Wow. Soooo, ummmm, I’ve been getting a lot of attention all of a sudden, so it looks like my convoluted little wordpress site could use an overhaul sometime soon. In the meantime, I’m going to post the haps right here. My latest music video, The Ivy League Hustle (I Went to Princeton, Bitch) took off like cray cray thanks to the current twitter-loving population of Princeton and alumni at large… once the Huffington Post got wind, a larger audience appeared to see and relate to the video, then I was on CBS “This Morning” and by now it’s gotten upwards of 200k views, the most of any of my independently-produced silly things. It’s extremely humbling… and at times frustrating. I have the urge to defend myself against all the internet trolls who mispercieve the exaggerated hypetalk of the video– a tradition proudly preserved from the past decade of rap videos– as actual arrogance, as though I’m actually complaining to the population at large that I’m broke. No, people, I’m making fun of myself. Hence the cardboard sign about explicating Baudelaire… do people just stop paying attention once they’ve made up their mind to be angry about something? Regardless, about 95% of the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, which is even better than I’d hoped for, and I’m feeling quite overwhelmed and grateful at the warm reception. Here are some links and a few videos from the past week that track the evolution of my viral vid journey!
